Dear National Lung Cancer Partnership Supporters,

You hear it this time of year: 'Tis the season for giving.  It's so easy to get caught up in the commercialism of the holidays that we can lose sight of what "giving" is all about.  Here are some ideas for giving directly and indirectly to the National Lung Cancer Partnership this holiday season. Everyone at the National Lung Cancer Partnership wishes you a healthy and happy New Year!

Case Foundation giving challenge

Take the Giving Challenge. This is your chance to help us get $50,000! The Case Foundation is awarding a total of $750,000 in charitable grants through the America's Giving Challenge presented by Parade and the Causes Giving Challenge on Facebook. Two Challenges mean two opportunities for up to $50,000 per charity!

Here's how it works: use the same communication tools you use every day, like email, blogs, webpages, social networks, and/or charity badges to mobilize your friends, supporters or anyone who shares your passion to help you generate support for lung cancer research, education and awareness. You could even help us get $50,000! More than 150 grants will be awarded to charities participating in the Challenge. The objective of both Challenges is simple: to get the greatest number of donations between December 14 and January 31.

Please visit the Case Foundation to learn how to participate and help National Lung Cancer Partnership receive a grant ranging from $1,000 - $50,000!

Charity-friendly websites

Consider using charity-friendly websites to do your online shopping.  These sites give a percentage of the sales to qualified non-profits but shoppers still pay the same prices that are found in the stores.  There are hundreds of stores on-board with these different websites, making it possible for nearly all online purchases to make a difference.  Don't forget to select National Lung Cancer Partnership as your charity of choice when checking out!  A few notable sites include:

www.GiveLine.com

Living with Lung Cancer... Through My Eyes

Lori Monroe, a 6-year lung cancer survivor and National Lung Cancer Partnership's Lung Cancer Ambassador, is writing a blog on her life with lung cancer. Lori was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in September 2001 and given 6-10 months to live. Now, 6 years after her diagnosis, she is writing a blog with the wish that she can somehow give others hope to do the same - to live with lung cancer.  Please click here to read Lori Monroe's blog, Living with Lung Cancer...
